Atomic Mouse #12
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeAl Fago's cover for this 1955 Charlton issue sets up a wonderfully comedic scene: a smug villain in yellow stands at a TNT detonator, apparently hoping to blow up the "To Our Hero — Atomic Mouse, Erected by the Citizens of Mouseville" monument — while the caped Atomic Mouse himself comes streaking down from the sky to crash the plan, with a tiny flying version of the hero visible in the upper corner for good measure. The cheerful chaos and warm civic pride on that stone pedestal give this "Toast of the Town" issue a lighthearted charm that feels right at home in mid-1950s funny-animal comics. Fago's cartooning is loose and expressive, making every character's emotion pop right off the cover.
