Atari Force Special #1

The entire Atari Force team charges forward on this 1986 DC Special, rendered with crisp energy by cover penciler Marshall Rogers and inker John Byrne — a white-haired young woman in an orange-and-yellow uniform leads the rush, flanked by a gruff bandana-wearing fighter, a massive blue-skinned hulking figure, a red-suited hero crackling with energy, a small skull-faced creature, a green-skinned alien, and a quick little fox-like animal at the edge of the group. The tagline promises "all-new action with comics' greatest science fiction team," and with a full creative roster including writers Julius Schwartz, Andrew Helfer, and Paul Kupperberg alongside artist Marshall Rogers, "A Mercenary's Story" looks like a worthy showcase for this wonderfully eclectic cast.
