Volume 23 of Osamu Tezuka's original Astro Boy series brings a thrilling cover image that puts the plucky robot boy front and center, fists raised and jet boots blazing as he rockets straight toward the viewer. Looming behind him is a massive, menacing robot with outstretched mechanical arms, while scattered machinery and debris fly outward in every direction — conveying real urgency and scale. With cover art by Tezuka himself, this 2003 Dark Horse edition is a fine showcase of the manga master's energetic, expressive linework.
