Asterix #39

Written by Jean-Yves Ferri and illustrated by Didier Conrad, this 2021 entry in the beloved Asterix series sends our winged-helmeted hero and his enormous companion Obelix into a snowy, frost-laden wilderness. The cover places Asterix atop a sturdy horse while Obelix points excitedly toward a towering, weathered wooden griffin totem — its jagged beak looming overhead — with Dogmatix perched improbably at its very top. It's a wonderfully atmospheric scene that promises cold-weather adventure and all the warmth and humor that has made this series so enduring.
