Arion #5 (1985) features the sorcerer Arion in a story titled "Sorciers en lutte," written by Doug Moench and illustrated by Jan Duursema, with inking by Tom Mandrake and coloring by Tom Ziuko and Bob LeRose. The cover, also by Jan Duursema, depicts the character in a dramatic, mystical setting.
In "Démons des cavernes," Arak and Satyricus arrive at a ruined monastery after witnessing raiders slaughter a group of monks—only to see the Kers, winged soul-reapers, claim the dead. When Arak provokes one of the creatures, it vows retribution. Disguised, the two enter the monastery, where they’re tasked with investigating reports of three naked maidens deep in the caves. As Arak ventures into the chasm below, he stumbles upon ancient carvings that reveal a shocking truth about his origins.
