Jughead Jones has apparently claimed first-place honors at the Annual Boardwalk Hot Dog Eating Contest — trophy in hand — though the judge's exclamation that it's "the first time anybody's won by forfeit!" suggests his victory came about in the most Jughead way imaginable. The sunny 2003 cover, penciled and inked by Rex W. Lindsey, captures a lively boardwalk scene complete with a crowd of onlookers, a table piled high with hot dogs, and a bemused judge wearing his sash.
