Archie's Pal Jughead #34

This February 1956 installment of Archie's Pal Jughead leads with a wonderfully funny cover gag: two girls at a piano are trying to recruit our beanie-capped hero into a singing trio for "Down by the Old Mill Stream," but Jughead — too busy munching — flatly declares the only time he ever sings is in the shower, only to receive the perfectly timed retort that maybe he should shower more often. Artist Bill Vigoda captures Jughead's gloriously grumpy, red-faced reaction in that final panel with great comic timing, making this a charming slice of mid-'50s Riverdale humor at the bargain price of just a dime.
