Archie's Pal Jughead #21

Jughead sits slumped at a diner table sporting a spectacular black eye — the result, he cheerfully admits to a baffled Archie, of eating more than he could pay for. Bill Vigoda's cover captures that perfectly deadpan Jughead logic with warm, expressive linework, while a couple of other patrons look on in the background. This December 1953 issue is a ten-cent slice of Riverdale humor at its most charmingly shameless.
