May 1964 · Archie · 0.12 USD
“Penny Ante”

In "Penny Ante," Jughead finds himself in a whirlwind of chaos after a fateful spin on the Marrying Machine at the arcade, sparking a wild chase that sends him careening through a stationary bike and a hall of mirrors. With Archie and Reggie hot on his heels—and Big Ethel showing up in the most inconvenient way—Jughead’s attempt to escape leads straight to the Chok'lit Shoppe, where things only get more awkward. Penciled, inked, and lettered by Samm Schwartz, this 1964 classic captures the series’ signature blend of humor and absurdity in a single, unforgettable page-turner.
