Archie's Joke Book Magazine #111
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis April 1967 issue of Archie's Joke Book Magazine serves up a perfectly timed two-panel gag right on the cover. In the top panel, a fuming bald principal leans over his desk, demanding that Archie and Jughead — looking suitably sheepish — "do something" about their constant trips to his office. The payoff lands in the bottom panel, where the two boys are spotted on a ladder nailing a horseshoe above the principal's door, presumably for good luck, much to the wide-eyed surprise of a girl watching nearby. It's the kind of wholesome, laugh-out-loud setup that made Riverdale's gang irresistible reading in the sixties.
