Archie & Friends Double Digest Magazine #24
In "From the Ground Up," Archie and his friends take on a heartfelt renovation of Riverdale’s first store, Pickens General, turning it into a community hub. When local developer Godfrey Ghecko steps in with plans to build a garage on the same site, the kids must rally support—bringing in Mr. Lodge and a TV news crew to stand up to city hall. Written by Jeffrey Branch and illustrated by Rex Lindsey, with inks by Rich Koslowski, colors by Barry Grossman, and letters by Jack Morelli, this story captures the spirit of small-town pride and the power of youth activism. The cover by Dan DeCarlo and Henry Scarpelli perfectly captures the nostalgic charm of the moment.
