The Archies' garage band scheme has taken an unexpected turn on this cheerful 2003 cover by Stan Goldberg and Bob Smith — Archie comes racing out of the garage clutching a fistful of cash while Jughead celebrates beside him, only for the punchline to hit: the neighbors paid them not to rehearse. Betty, Veronica, and the rest of the gang look on from inside amid guitars, a drum kit, and amplifiers, making the whole scene a perfectly timed visual gag. It's the kind of warm, laugh-out-loud Riverdale humor that makes Archie & Friends such an easy book to love.
