“The Weekend”

Archie is caught red-handed on this cheerful cover, chatting on the wall phone with a sheepish grin while a collapsed ironing board and a pile of rumpled laundry tell the real story behind his claim to Betty that he was "just…er pumping some iron!" Stan Goldberg's pencils and Rudy Lapick's inks give the scene that warm, lived-in domestic charm the series does so well. With 128 pages packed inside, this 1992 digest is a great value for anyone who loves Riverdale's favorite redhead at his most endearingly hapless.

At a meeting of the Riverdale Liars Club, Archie starts by saying "Girls!! Who needs 'em?" and that he gets his kicks by collecting butterflies. Jughead is next, and says that he gets up every day at dawn, skips breakfast and jogs his usual 20 miles. After that, Moose gets up and says that after he studies his nuclear physics, he likes to relax with chess. Reggie responds by saying that he's never told a lie in his life and isn't about to start now. Reggie is surprised to earn the trophy that says "1st prize Riverdale Liars Club".
