Archie at Riverdale High #95
In "It's 1984 At Riverdale...And If You Don't Watch Out, Someone Will Be Watching You! (part 1)," Archie at Riverdale High #95 delivers a quirky, satirical twist on bureaucracy, as Mr. Lodge recounts to Veronica the absurd chain of government mandates that have turned his factory into a surreal, pink-hued maze of red tape. Written by Rich Margopoulos and brought to life with vibrant energy by Stan Goldberg, Rudy Lapick, Barry Grossman, and Bill Yoshida, the issue blends humor and mild paranoia in a story where even the paint on the walls has a secret history. Cover by Stan Goldberg.

Mr. Lodge tells Veronica about how the government has controlled his factory. Apparently, the Defense Department told him to get ahead of schedule on widget production and to paint the factory pink to cheer up the workers. Then, the Labor Department told him to remove the paint because at above 120 degrees, the paint gives off an odor harmful to lab monkeys. Then, he is told not to wash it off because the chemical could enter the city water supply. Instead, it has to be scraped off by hand and stored in metal drums.
