Archie Annual Digest #50

A wonderfully packed 128-page digest from 1987, this fiftieth issue of Archie Annual Comics Digest Magazine captures the gang's humor in a single perfectly timed cover gag by Dan DeCarlo: Dilton diligently works through complex equations at the chalkboard while Archie, supposed to be doing the same, is completely distracted by Betty and Veronica stepping through the classroom door — much to the exasperated dismay of their teacher and a grumpy bald onlooker in the foreground. The caption says it all: "Dilton has a head for figures… and Archie has an eye for figures!" Inside, stories including "Girl Whirl" by George Gladir and Hy Eisman promise plenty more of the cheerful Riverdale comedy this series has always delivered so well.
