Arcanum #8

This 1998 Image series wraps up its eighth issue with a striking cover by penciler Brandon Peterson and inker Joe Weems V — a looming, half-skeletal villain whose one fleshed hand and one bare bone hand reach menacingly toward the viewer, his skull-scarred face split between the living and the dead against a burning amber background. The sheer physical presence of the figure, complete with crossed straps across a dark robed torso and intricate tattooed arms, makes for an immediately arresting image.
