The final showdown with Angelica and her false dragon approaches. When she summons the beast, Haakon challenges it on his own, but his ship and all aboard are quickly killed. While Arak confronts the witch, an old wizard summons a true dragon to do battle with the serpent, and soon the debased creature is destroyed. But, Angelica has managed to obtain the serum of immortality and all seems lost until the old wizard shows her her true, monstrous form in a magic mirror. To Angelica's horror, the image in the mirror draws her inexorably into its world. When it's done, Arak breaks the mirror.
