Aquaman #36
In "The Assassination of King Rath," Aquaman and the enigmatic Murk team up for a high-stakes infiltration of the throne room, each driven by a different vision of justice—Aquaman seeking to capture Corum Rath for trial, Murk intent on ending him by any means. As tensions rise and the true nature of Rath’s transformation begins to unfold, the rebels outside scramble to find a way to counter the monstrous magic now threatening the kingdom. Written by Dan Abnett and illustrated by Riccardo Federici, with colors by Sunny Gho and letters by Steve Wands, this pivotal issue sees the stakes escalate in a story that’s as much about ideology as it is about survival. The cover by Howard Porter captures the tension perfectly.
