“Darkness Falls”

In "Darkness Falls," Aquaman #35 (2018) delivers a pulse-pounding escalation as Jurok Byss and King Shark push the Undercurrent toward victory—only for a transformed Kadaver to unleash a wave of magical chaos, turning the Drift soldiers into unstoppable, otherworldly foes. With Robson Rocha’s dynamic art and Howard Porter’s striking cover, Dan Abnett crafts a high-stakes clash where Aquaman fights to protect his allies, while Rath’s desperate bid for power reaches a terrifying peak.

Jurok Byss and King Shark are leading the Undercurrent to victory over Rath's men, until a transformed Kadaver arrives and transforms the Drift soldiers into magical creatures whom the rebels cannot stop. Aquaman arrives and battles the magical creatures allowing the Undercurrent to escape, but Murk arrives to carry out Rath's order to kill Aquaman. Meanwhile Leot and Urcell convince the Atlantean elders to strip Rath of the throne, however Rath uses the magic of the Abyssal Dark to give himself supreme power.
