Angel: Old Friends #2
IDW's Angel: Old Friends #2 (December 2005) keeps the tension simmering with a cover by David Messina that places two figures front and center — a brooding Angel, arms crossed in the background, and a bald man in a blue hoodie whose bloodied hand is raised toward the viewer in an unsettling, almost confrontational gesture. The gritty, shadowed composition perfectly captures the uneasy dynamic the "Old Friends" title promises. Jeff Mariotte's script, brought to life by artists David Messina and Elena Casagrande with colors by Davide Amici, makes this a stylish continuation of the arc.
