Andrew Vachss' Underground #2
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeAndrew Vachss' gritty mature-readers series continues with issue #2, "The Pain Merchant," brought to life entirely by Bob Fingerman's unsparing linework on both the cover and interior. The cover draws you in with three striking figures gathered near a doorway — a masked, robed figure on the left bearing a "PMX" emblem, a shaven-headed man in the center extending his hand, and a tattooed woman in black leather on the right wearing a name badge reading "Gretchen." Dark Horse gave this 1994 series room to explore the shadowy margins of urban life, and Fingerman's richly rendered characters make it clear this is a world where nothing is quite what it seems.
