Analog #5

The cover of Analog #5 splits its composition into two striking halves: on the left, a confident man in a trench coat stands in a doorway with an industrial bridge looming behind him, briefcase in hand; on the right, a red-drenched scene crackles with tension as an armed man levels a pistol while a dark-haired woman raises a revolver in response. David O'Sullivan's linework and Mike Spicer's color work — cool blues versus hot, threatening reds — do a lot of visual storytelling before you've even opened the cover. Gerry Duggan's near-future noir series wraps up its first arc here, and this fifth issue looks like a fittingly tense send-off.
