America vs. the Justice Society #1
In "Chapter One: 'I Accuse!'", Superman confronts the Justice Society of America with shocking claims: evidence from Batman’s old associate Dr. Nichols suggests the JSA may have secretly aided the Nazis during World War II—accusations that shatter their legacy and plunge them into a crisis of trust. Written by Roy and Dann Thomas and illustrated by Rafael Kayanan, Rich Buckler, and Jerry Ordway, with inks by Alfredo Alcala and Bill Collins, and colors by Adrienne Roy, this pivotal 1985 issue sets a tense, high-stakes tone. Jerry Ordway’s cover captures the moment of confrontation, as the JSA faces arrest and a congressional investigation that threatens to unravel everything they’ve stood for.

Superman tells the gathered JSA how Batman's old associate Dr. Nichols gave him Batman's diary and other evidence that accuses the Justice Society of secretly fighting for the Nazi cause from the group's formation in November 1940 through the end of the war, and of covering it up since then. But their meeting is interrupted when the JSA members are taken into custody, pending a congressional investigation.
