This anthology issue features multiple stories including a Doc Strange tale in which military personnel head to Washington to address supply issues while guerrillas and native forces create chaos in a Pacific theater campaign involving the Panama Canal. "Voice of the Jungle" by Kerry McRoberts depicts Martin Daly, an American soldier at Punay in the Philippines, who befriends locals and devises a clever scheme using Filipino guerrillas to trap Japanese forces by luring them with a false drum signal. The Fighting Yank story shows the character unearthing buried gold and taking to the air in a speedplane to intercept enemy forces, engaged in aerial combat with bombs and bullets.

When a young explorer's telegram summons Bruce Carter III to the Arctic, he discovers an impossible island—newly risen from the sea and concealing buried pirate treasure—but a ruthless crew of professional criminals is already hunting for the same prize. Joined by Joan Farwell and his friend Cliff Waterbury, Bruce must transform into the Fighting Yank to defend the island and thwart the mysterious raiders closing in from air and sea. As the battle escalates and key maps vanish, the Yank realizes this remote Arctic outpost may hold far greater stakes than treasure alone.
