Amazing Stories of Suspense #65
In "Sink The Carrier Gettysburg!", Stan Lee and Steve Ditko deliver a delightfully absurd tale of unintended consequences, where a man’s desperate quest to shed pounds leads him on a surreal journey after a fateful visit to the mysterious Korumbu. The story unfolds with a twisty, tongue-in-cheek energy, as the protagonist’s magic potion grants a transformation far more extreme than he bargained for—leaving him trapped in a perpetual state of hunger and decay. Ray Bailey’s striking cover art captures the story’s bizarre tone, while Ditko’s distinctive interior art brings the gypsy mystique and escalating panic to life.

A fat man who wishes to lose weight without giving up overeating goes to Korumbu for a magic potion. Korumbu tells him it is too dangerous at first, but when the fat man threatens to sic the authorities on the gypsy camp, Korumbu gives him the potion. He drinks, and passes out. When he comes to, the gypsy camp is gone, and he finds the potion has worked too well. He is constantly losing weight and if he stops stuffing his face even for a moment, he is in danger of wasting away to nothing. He spends the rest of his days searching for Korumbu.
