When Barton Stone learns that a $35,000 reward awaits the capture of the wanted criminal Joseph "Gypsy" Greco, he springs into action—but first he must help a determined Broadway columnist, Doris Gorman, who's stumbled into danger while investigating a lead on Greco's whereabouts. Stone devises a clever plan involving a feline accomplice with a deadly secret, setting a trap at the Hotel Phenix where the fugitive is hiding. What unfolds is a tense game of cat and mouse that puts both Stone's cunning and his unconventional methods to the test.
