The cover of this 2005 Marvel Next anthology issue announces "Welcome to Madripoor, Scorpion!" — and the masked, long-haired young woman at its center looks more than capable of living up to the threat. James Jean's cover art crackles with kinetic energy as Scorpion fends off a crowd of aggressive, tattooed assailants, delivering a glowing energy strike to one while others claw and lunge from the edges of the composition. Fred Van Lente and Leonard Kirk continue "Motherless Country" inside, and if this cover is any indication, Madripoor is proving to be every bit as dangerous as its reputation suggests.
