Three chipmunks on a miniature locomotive called the "Fireball" — with Alvin at the throttle waving confidently and his brothers riding along — make for one of the most cheerful covers Dell put out in January 1972. The little engine's smiling face and the bold "Toot! Toot!" call-out give the whole scene an irresistible sense of fun in motion. If "Roughing It" is on the agenda inside, this crew is clearly off to a roaring start.
