While her father is on the phone, Barbara Gordon for the first time changes into Batgirl and swings out of the window. Jimmy Olsen, cub reporter for the Gotham Gazette, has been summoned to Vicki Vale's hospital room. He gives her information on the Flying Graysons and Bat-Man and Vicki decides to leave the hospital. After Black Canary roars across Batman's path, she confronts some men, knocks them out, and takes their money. Batman confronts Jocko-Boy Vanzetti, but hears automatic weapons fire and leaves. Black Canary is running from the gang of the men she robbed, but Batman intervenes.
