Peter David's All-New X-Factor hits its third issue with one of the more disarmingly charming covers of 2014 — Gambit, clad in his red-and-orange costume, striking a confident pose while cradling three cats (one draped over each shoulder, one held in his arms), all set against a soft lavender background. The cover quote — "Let me go first, Lorna, I'm their freaking king." — perfectly captures the irreverent tone this series brings to its corporate-sponsored mutant team. Kris Anka's linework gives the whole thing a warm, playful energy that makes this issue hard to pass up.
