Peter David's corporate-sponsored mutant team gets a wonderfully offbeat moment in this 2014 issue, with Kris Anka's cover capturing a masked X-Factor member in his yellow-and-grey uniform facing a smiling young woman who's extending a notepad and pen with the question "Could you sign this?!" — a superhero autograph request staged, somewhat surreally, before a crowd of armored soldiers. Lee Loughridge's rosy pink palette gives the whole scene a disarming warmth that makes the surrounding armed figures feel all the more absurd. It's a clever, humanizing snapshot of life as a Serval Industries-backed hero, brought to life by the creative team of David, Di Giandomenico, and Loughridge.
