Aliens: Defiance #10

A lone human figure crouches in the shadows of a chamber draped with hanging xenomorph forms — their elongated, biomechanical silhouettes rendered in deep crimson and black by cover artist Stephanie Hans, with a cold blue light cutting through the darkness to reveal another Alien lurking in the background. The contrast of one small, vulnerable person against this overwhelming nest of creatures makes for a deeply atmospheric image that captures the quiet dread Defiance does so well. Brian Wood, Stephen Thompson, and Dan Jackson bring "Episode Ten: Intrasolar" to life under that gorgeous cover, and by issue ten this series has clearly found its footing as one of the more thoughtful corners of the Aliens universe.
