Dan Panosian's cover for this second issue of Alice Ever After is a wonderfully unsettling composition — Alice's face fills the bottom of the frame, mouth open wide, while a top-hatted rabbit with a violin, a Cheshire Cat-like figure, a banjo-playing creature, and a crow scatter golden coins above her in a frenzy of Wonderland chaos. Framed by ornate Art Nouveau borders lined with gilded Wonderland sketches, the whole image carries a dreamy, slightly sinister carnival atmosphere that feels perfectly suited to this darker reimagining. Boom! Studios continues to deliver something genuinely strange and beautiful with this 2022 series.
