The six-issue WildStorm miniseries Albion reaches its finale with this November 2006 installment, "Hands Across the Water," written by Alan Moore, Leah Moore, and John Reppion with interior art by Shane Oakley. Dave Gibbons's cover art delivers a striking image: a massive, segmented mechanical claw crackling with electric blue lightning, reaching downward against an eerie, storm-charged background. It's a fittingly dramatic close to a series that revived beloved British comics characters, and Gibbons's clean, charged linework gives the finale a sense of real weight and consequence.
