Alan Scott: The Green Lantern #2
In "Conversion," Alan Scott’s past unfolds with quiet power as he recalls his time at Arkham Asylum, where he confronted societal pressures and found strength in self-acceptance—only to face brutal consequences when his beliefs led to forced electroshock therapy. The story traces his journey from that trauma through a devastating train accident and a mysterious resurrection by green energy, all rendered with emotional depth by Tim Sheridan and Cian Tormey. The cover by David Talaski captures the haunting weight of Alan’s transformation.

Alan recalls voluntarily committing himself into Arkham Asylum for his homosexual tendencies, and how he gradually came to realize that there was nothing wrong with him. However, expressing those ideas led to forced electroshock therapy, which in turn led him to lead others in escaping the institution. Later, he went into the railroad business, but a disgruntled competitor's sabotage destroyed the train he was riding, killing everyone aboard. Alan was then restored to life by an unknown green energy.
