“The Ghost Plane of Runway 13”

In "The Ghost Plane of Runway 13," Ernest Schroeder's stark art brings to life a tale of greed and retribution, where a black crab—a harbinger of ill omen—drives a desperate fisherman to murder. As Jacques’ dark ambition spirals, the creature’s eerie presence follows him, turning his dream of love and wealth into a haunting chase. With moody, expressive linework by Schroeder on both interior and cover, this 1952 Hillman classic blends maritime dread with a touch of supernatural unease.
