Age of X-Man: Prisoner X #3

Part of Marvel's 2019 Age of X-Man crossover event, this third issue of Prisoner X arrives with a cover by Patch Zircher that grabs you immediately — a snarling, blue-furred Beast strains against two crackling energy batons being pressed into him from above, purple electricity arcing across his green-clad torso as a looming, shadowed figure holds him at bay. The raw tension of that image — massive claws splayed, teeth bared, power barely contained — sets a gripping tone for Vita Ayala and Germán Peralta's story unfolding inside. Mike Spicer's coloring gives the whole scene a moody, bruising atmosphere that fits the mutant-prison setting perfectly.
