Adventures of Superman #550

Marking its milestone 550th issue with a double-sized anniversary celebration, this 1997 entry in The Adventures of Superman packs an ambitious cover by Stuart Immonen and José Marzán Jr. that teases multiple converging storylines at once. At the center, a blue-suited Superman surges upward with fists raised, while the surrounding panels pull in Jimmy Olsen looking gravely serious, a chained figure in yellow-and-blue tumbling helplessly, and a bald, red-jacketed Lex Luthor flanked by a crowd of protesters holding "Free Luthor" and "Murderer" signs.
