While the Challengers transport Darius Tiko back through the time-stream, Tiko crashes the time cube in Metropolis and runs off. The Challengers realize it's 1994 and dash to the Daily Planet for more info. The Challengers meet Perry White and attack the elementals until Superman steps in. Tiko pulls a ring and creates a vacuum that even Superman can't buck. Ace circles and puts a gun to Tiko's head. The elementals wind down and the Challengers drag Tiko back into the time cube for 1958. Superman reflects on the non-superheroes' bravery as he flies over Prof Haley’s memorial.
