Adventure Time #29

Mike Holmes delivers a wonderfully chaotic cover for this 2014 KaBOOM! release, with a massively stretched Jake the Dog grinning wide as he slides through a torrential river of lava surrounded by a crowd of small, blobby creatures in every color imaginable. Up in the upper left, a crystalline figure — radiating that purple, stormy sky behind it — fires a blazing energy blast, making the whole scene feel like Land of Ooo mayhem at its most delightfully unhinged. With Ryan North writing and Jim Rugg on interior art, issue #29 promises the same sharp wit and wild energy the series is known for.
