Adventure Time #11
Adventure Time (2025) #11 is part of the first original Adventure Time comic book series published in six years — a revival that Oni Press launched in April 2025 after acquiring the license from Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products and Cartoon Network, picking up narratively where the Eisner Award-winning BOOM! Studios run left off. As part three of a four-chapter arc titled 'Handbook Heroes,' issue #11 deepens the ongoing Marceline/Simon Petrikov (Ice King) emotional thread that has been a cornerstone of the franchise's storytelling identity since the animated series, while escalating a Fire Kingdom mistaken-identity plot that showcases the series' signature blend of comedy and consequence. The issue also continues the 'Lemonhope, Alone' backup serial, sustaining the anthology-within-a-monthly structure that Oni established as a defining feature of this new run — a format choice that echoes the best tradition of the BOOM! Studios era while giving emerging talent a recurring platform.

Oni Press secured the Adventure Time comics license in 2024 through a partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products and Cartoon Network, then launched the new ongoing series on April 9, 2025 — the first original Adventure Time comic story since the 2019 graphic novel 'Party Bash Blues.' Series editor Megan Brown shepherded the book with a deliberate rotating-artist model: writer-cartoonist-animator Nick Winn (Bloody Mary) serves as the series' primary writer and creative anchor, while a succession of guest artists handle interiors arc by arc. For issue #11, that rotating seat went to Agustin Morales (Go Go Proton, Megahrtz), with backup writer Elizabeth Brei also credited — part of the same collaborative pipeline that has brought in Eisner Award winners and LA Times Book Prize finalists across the series' first year.
