As Scar reviews The Book of the Black, she thinks about Lex Luthor. Lex, assigned by General Lane to try and unlock the secrets in Brainiac, believes he has control over the villain, but Brainiac surprises Lex by re-activating and declaring that now they will be working together as a team. Only Scar knows that Luthor will be saved from this alliance with Brainiac by the currently deceased Superboy.
