Advanced Dungeons & Dragons Comic Book #31

Two warriors — a barrel-chested fighter in red wielding raw ferocity and a bearded dwarf swinging a massive battle-axe — burst through a crumbling stone wall on Tom Mandrake's kinetic cover for this 1991 DC series entry. Surrounding them in the rubble lurk a host of monstrous creatures: clawed hands, serpentine forms, and skeletal remains press in from every angle, making the desperation of their escape palpable. Dan Mishkin's "Pillar of Gold" looks to be a rousing adventure, and Mandrake's dense, atmospheric linework gives the whole scene a gritty urgency that fits the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons world perfectly.
