Advanced Dungeons & Dragons Comic Book #27

Issue #27 of DC's Advanced Dungeons & Dragons series presents a hauntingly beautiful cover by Jan Duursema — a striking woman with wild black-and-white hair stands at the center, surrounded by a swirling mandala of magical artifacts: golden serpents, ornate lanterns, and a great reptilian eye that looms ominously above her outstretched hand. The story title "Death and the Dragon's Eye" perfectly matches the atmosphere of dark enchantment radiating from every inch of this 1991 cover. Dan Mishkin and Jan Duursema were crafting some genuinely compelling fantasy storytelling at this point in the series, and this issue's visual presentation makes a strong case for seeking it out.
