“Action Girl & Flying Girl in: Big Present”

In "Action Girl & Flying Girl in: Big Present," Beth’s routine dinner run takes a bizarre turn when she’s goaded into ordering something completely random from a Chinese menu—no English translation, no clue what’s inside. With her friends Ant and Jo along for the ride, the meal becomes a surreal showdown of nerves and curiosity, as the dish that arrives defies every expectation. Written and drawn entirely by Patty Leidy, this quirky, character-driven story blends humor and mild horror with a distinct 1996 indie comic charm, while Sarah Dyer’s cover captures the absurdity in bold, expressive detail.

Beth decides she doesn't want the same old noodles for supper and decides to go out for Chinese food, three friends come with her. They tease her about getting the same thing every time. To challenge her, Ant orders a random item from the menu, even though she has no idea what is in it. The waiter offers a menu in English, but Ant declines. When the food arrives they all lose their appetite upon seeing Ant's food - which is chicken parts like claws, eyeballs and intestines.
