“Dreadnoks on the Loose !”

In the 1987 Action Force Winter Special, "Dreadnoks on the Loose!", three Joes trade their duty for a California surf trip—only to stumble upon a chaotic showdown with the Dreadnoks and Zartan’s new holographic motorcycle. With Larry Hama scripting and Rod Whigham, Mark Bright, and Bob Camp handling the art, the story unfolds as the Joes race to stop a series of deceptions, from a disguised chopper to a mysterious passenger who vanishes mid-landing. The cover by Mike Collins and Dave Hine captures the action’s high-octane energy, making this a standout moment in the series.

Three Joes are off to California on furlough to surf when they run across three of the Dreadnoks taking a joy ride on Zartan's new holographic motorcycle, which is damaged in the scuffle. Zartan later picks up two of them in a transport chopper holographically disguised as a bus, with Buzzer captured by the Joes, after being told of their joyride by Bludd and the Baroness. The old lady Zartan picks up as a passenger mysteriously disappears after the chopper lands back in Springfield before she can be killed, but it was a disguise as the disguise was discarded.
