David Hine was born in 1956 in England. He is best known as the writer and artist behind the Marvel series *Silent War* and the creator-owned project *The Bulletproof Coffin*. Hine began his comics career in the late 1980s, working primarily as an artist, colorist, and inker. Between 1987 and 1995, he contributed to over twenty issues, with his most frequent credits appearing on *The Real Ghostbusters*, *Doctor Who Magazine*, *Dark Angel*, and the *Death's Head* family of titles, including *The Incomplete Death's Head* and *Warheads: Black Dawn*. His style often blends detailed linework with a moody, atmospheric sensibility, suited to both superhero and horror-tinged stories. While he has collaborated with various writers and artists over the years, his solo work on *Silent War*—a cosmic Marvel tale centered on the Inhumans—remains a standout for its emotional depth and striking visuals. Later in his career, Hine shifted more toward writing, though he continues to draw. He has not received major industry awards, but his cult-favorite projects have earned him a dedicated following among readers who appreciate offbeat, character-driven comics.
