“Courtship of Adelbert Dribble!”

In "Courtship of Adelbert Dribble!", a bizarre string of suicides at the city's new zoo sends shockwaves through Metropolis—six criminals leap into the lion pit, only for Boss Bannon to escape police pursuit by the same dramatic route. As panic spreads, Zatara dives into the enclosure and uncovers a hidden trapdoor leading to a secret chamber beneath the zoo, revealing a shocking conspiracy. Joe Sulman’s dynamic art brings the mystery to life, while Jack Burnley and Stan Kaye’s cover captures the chaos in bold, striking detail.

Speaking with Harker, director of the city's new zoo, he learns that six criminals have committed suicide by jumping into the lion's enclosure. At that very moment, Boss Bannon eludes the policemen giving chase by doing just that. He runs up to the lions and seconds later only his jacket is visible. Zatara goes into the pit and finds a trapdoor cut into the rock leading down to a chamber where the apparent suicides are gathered. The scheme of Harker is exposed, and all are carted off to jail.
