Superman is returned to the present but he has lost his invulnerability and heat vision. He manages to save the collapsing Daily Planet building that was attacked by the Mole, but is himself saved by the Omega Men. The Omega Men help Superman finish saving the Daily Planet and battle the Mole. But Superman is wounded badly in the fight. While recovering, Superman is captured by the Mole.
