Superman has lost his memory and is living in 1776 as reporter Clark Kent. Various incidents cause him to rediscover his powers and identity, and he returns to the present. Superman battles Karb-brak (who sent him to the past) and finds a cure for the disease affecting Karb-brak. Superman wipes Karb-brak's memories of being an alien so he can live in peace on Earth.
